Boot trends that are IN and OUT in 2020

We have officially entered the fall, and whether you’ve noticed it or not, but the weather is getting slightly cooler and the air crisper, which means this is when you get all your boots out and start wearing them with your outfits as we approach the colder months of the year. Boot season is officially here, and as happy as we are to tell you this, there’s another thing you should know that some of the boots you have in your possession might no longer be in style, and while that’s quite a bummer, you might find some relief knowing that a few other boot trends are emerging this year and they sound as promising and chic as you expect them to be.
It’s no secret that every trend comes with an expiry date and boot trends are no exception. At one point or another, every boot style except for classics will have to make an exit only to make a comeback after some point which can be a year or years long. To make you feel any better, we have listed the hottest boot trends of this season along with the ones we will bid adieu to. Keep reading to know about them.

OUT: Round toe-boots
IN: Square-toe kitten-heel boots

Basic round toe-boots had their time, and as much as we enjoyed having this go-to pair around, it’s time we retire them for some time now and bring something fresher and chicer to our shoe collection. Square-toe kitten-heel boots are just all you need to add a sense of flair to your wardrobe. Right from appealing and interesting looks to walkable and comfy feels, everything about this pair is simply amazing.

OUT: Sock boots
IN: Wide-shaft boots

Sock boots were all the rage at some point, and while they did contribute to making the ensemble feel chicer and more put together, it didn’t take the trend much longer to slowly decline in its popularity and this year, they will surely be gone for good at least for a while. The only thing that makes us pretty excited about the retirement of this trend is the arrival of wide-shaft boots that are roomier around your calf and ankle and also feels quite sophisticated, polished, and pretty timeless as well.

OUT: Basic ankle boots
IN: Chunky boots

Although basic ankle boots are pretty timeless and classic, we are finding ourselves gravitating more towards their chunkier version, which looks all the more chic and forward. The fashion runways this year were flooded with boots featuring chunky soles and given their popularity, we are certain they will be everywhere this fall. For those looking to buy themselves this pair, the modern Chelsea boots featuring chunky sole would make for an amazing purchase.

OUT: Platform boots
IN: Rubber wellies

Platform boots aren’t entirely out of fashion, but they certainly seem to have lost their charm, which is an acceptable excuse for us to not wear them with our fall outfits this year. Rubber wellies, on the other hand, are busy grabbing the limelight, and they also look far more interesting and fresher than platform boots, which seems to look off-trend at the moment. Also, rubber wellies are a lot more versatile and can easily be paired with all different outfits in your wardrobe.

OUT: Over-the-knee boots
IN: Flat riding boots

Another pair of boots that seem to have lost its charm and doesn’t feel as intriguing as they used to before is over-the-knee boots. The pair of boots that is believed to be quite huge this season is the flat riding boots, which certainly has an extra edge and chic appeal to it.
