Every girl desires to flaunt long, fluttery, and fuller lashes, and while mascara does its bit to add some oomph to the lashes, but there’s only so much it can do. Mascara does come in quite handy and is an ultimate life-savior, but it most certainly is not a durable solution. Falsies are an excellent alternative to mascara, and as much as we love to wear them to add extra drama to the look, taking them off at the end of the day is a kind of hassle as well. Lucky for us, beauty innovators knew exactly what we needed, thereby, they introduced eyelash extensions that can stay on for weeks, and there’s absolutely no kind of hassle involved, which is a plus. If you want to save yourself from wearing or taking off the falsies, getting lash extensions would probably be your best bet. You can wake up with those long and wispy eyelashes for weeks and look your absolute best in the morning selfies. However, eyelash extensions come with their own set of troubles. The biggest concern with eyelash extensions is the difficulty in removing eye makeup. Since lash extensions are attached to the base of your natural lashes with glue, rubbing the eyes too hard while removing the makeup can make your extensions as well as natural lashes to fall out. To make sure it doesn’t happen with you, we have formed a step-by-step guide for you on how you can remove your eye makeup while you have eyelash extensions on.
Step 1- Use an oil-free makeup remover
First things first, when it comes to getting rid of eye makeup, you shouldn’t use your usual oil-based makeup remover as it can easily weaken the eyelash extensions and cause them to shed; therefore, you should steer clear of oil-based products. You should use an oil-free makeup remover or micellar water to remove the eye makeup. Also, instead of taking your usual cotton pad, take a washcloth and pour some makeup remover on it. The reason why you need to switch your cotton pad with a washcloth is cotton pads often leave behind the lint on the lashes, which on removing can cause your lashes to break. Therefore, you should use a washcloth instead.
Step 2-
After you are done pouring the makeup remover on the washcloth; place it over your lids with your eyes closed. Let it sit there for a minute or two, and make sure to not swipe or rub the washcloth in order to remove the makeup, simply placing it over the eyelids would do the job pretty effectively.
Step 3–
After letting the washcloth sit on your lids for a minute or two, use it to wipe your eyelid, just make sure to keep a distance from the lash line. This makeup removing technique would help you get rid of the eye makeup pretty effectively (including your waterproof mascara).
Step 4-
In order to remove the makeup from around the lash line, you would need a cotton swab dipped in micellar water. Use it to remove the makeup by swiping it gently along the lash line. You can swipe it about two to three times to ensure that no makeup is left behind on the lids. Since the majority of eye makeup including eyeliner was pretty much removed or broken down in the previous step by placing a washcloth over the lids, you wouldn’t have to do much in this step.
Once you have completely taken off the entire eye makeup, you can cleanse your face using a face wash to get rid of every inch of makeup residue.
