Winter morning skincare routine for dry skin

Whether or not you’re a huge fan of season transitions, your skin definitely doesn’t find the idea very intriguing, and at times, it can act out, leaving you to take care of the mess that was left behind during the transition. When it comes to winters, it’s imperative to not only switch your skincare routine but the products as well to ensure that your skin behaves throughout the season. During winter, the weather gets pretty cold and dry, which can easily take a toll on your skin, hence, your skin feels pretty dry during this season. Your skin tends to lose moisture pretty rapidly during winter, and that can make things worse for people with dry skin. Therefore, it’s imperative to switch the skincare routine and introduce the right products in your routine so that your skin doesn’t have to go through any trouble during winter.
We have created a morning skincare routine for girls with dry skin that will get them through winters like a breeze.

Cleanse

Cleansing your skin will always remain the first and one of the most crucial steps in the skincare routine. No matter how cold it gets, you should never skip cleansing your face as it helps in removing dirt and impurities from the skin. And when it comes to the type of cleanser you are supposed to use during winters, you should pick a cream cleanser instead of a foaming cleanser to cleanse your face. Foaming cleansers can strip your already dry skin of its natural oils, leaving it drier, therefore, it’s best to use a cream cleanser that feels gentle on the skin and also helps in maintaining moisture levels. Use it to cleanse your face and help your skin get rid of dirt and impurities. Also, you should spend no less than 30-60 seconds to wash your face to get the desired results.

Toning

After you are done cleansing your face, it’s time to maintain the pH balance of your skin and help tighten the pores. Using astringents during winters can leave your skin drier, therefore, it’s best if you avoid using it during the cold season. Instead of using astringents, you can use moisturizing toner. This product comes with a lot of benefits, aside from helping your skin get rid of impurities or traces of makeup, it also helps in maintaining the skin’s pH balance, which further prepares your skin to absorb the moisturizer, hence, making it more effective. Look for an alcohol-free toner, and don’t take it as a replacement to your cleanser, it’s just a product that helps your skin in multiple ways.

Moisturize

Moisturizing is the most important step in the entire morning skincare routine. And you cannot use just any type of moisturizer, in order to keep your skin deeply hydrated and moisturized, it’s important to pick the right moisturizer. Keep your lightweight moisturizer for summer, moisturizers that are thicker and richer make for an ideal choice when it comes to winter. Richer creams help in keeping your skin hydrated and nourished throughout the day.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is one of those beauty products that should be used year-round, regardless of the season. Missing out on this step is one of the biggest skin sins to commit. Sunscreen basically acts as a shield against harmful UV rays that are responsible for several skin issues such as dark spots, sunburn, premature aging, pigmentation, etc. Therefore, you should always apply your sunscreen at least 15 to 30 minutes before stepping out of your house even if it’s overcast. And make sure to apply it to every exposed part of your skin to prevent it from the harmful damage of UV rays.
